This was the biggest week in agentic commerce so far. PSPs, platforms, LLMs and social networks - everyone moved this week. Here's everything that happened and why it matters.
We Shipped Something
Every week we get asked the same question: "We keep hearing about UCP and ACP. Our Shopify plan now includes an Agentic Plan. Are we compliant? What do we even need to do?"
So we built the UCP/ACP Validator - a free tool that scans your store for protocol compliance in 30 seconds. It checks whether your product data, structured markup, and feeds are ready for AI agent discovery across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, and others.
If you're a merchant or an agency working with e-commerce brands, go run your store through it. It takes 30 seconds.
Razorpay x Sarvam AI: Voice-First Agentic Payments Come to India
Razorpay partnered with Sarvam AI to launch voice-first conversational commerce in India. Users can discover products, place orders, and complete transactions through voice in Hindi, Hinglish, and other Indian languages.
What's live already:
- Swiggy is an early partner on the Indus App. Users can order food by talking to an AI assistant.
- The Derma Co has a live deployment where customers explore and buy products via voice commands.
- Razorpay CEO Harshil Mathur announced agentic payments rolling out with 20+ partners.
Sarvam's tech is being integrated into Razorpay's Agent Studio for multilingual AI agents.
Why this matters: First major PSP in India going all-in on agentic payments infrastructure. Voice-first commerce in regional languages unlocks a massive market that traditional text-based UI never could.
Firmly Launches Firmly Connect: First No-Code Agentic Commerce Platform
Firmly launched Firmly Connect, a no-code platform for merchants to integrate with AI shopping agents. Traditional integrations take 3-12 months, require 12-18 team members, and cost $250K-$500K. Firmly Connect does it in 45 minutes at roughly 95% less cost.
Key features:
- Protocol Abstraction: supports MCP, AP2, ACP, UCP, A2A, and KYA. One integration, all protocols.
- Agent Control Center: centralized dashboard to manage which agents sell your products.
- Merchant-of-Record Model: you keep control of brand, customer relationships, and first-party data.
Early clients include Best Buy and Backcountry. Strategic partner Aurus handles enterprise omni-commerce payments across 25+ countries. Kevin Lenau, President of Backcountry: "I did not believe the zero engineering to launch but they proved this true."
Why this matters: Agentic commerce is projected to be a $3-5 trillion economy in 5 years. Integration complexity was the number one blocker. Firmly just removed it.
Reddit Introduces New Shopping Features
Reddit rolled out Collection Ads: a lead image with shoppable product tiles in a carousel format, delivering an 8% ROAS lift.
- Community and Deal Overlays: Reddit-native labels like "Redditors' Top Pick" and automatic discount callouts.
- Shopify Integration (in testing): sync product catalogs and tracking.
- 40% YoY increase in high-intent shopping conversations.
- 84% of shoppers on Reddit feel more secure in purchases after researching on the platform.
Why this matters: Reddit is where real purchase decisions happen. They're building infrastructure to capture intent directly. For AI discoverability, Reddit is becoming a surface you can't ignore.
Shopify Launches the Agentic Plan
Shopify launched a new Agentic Plan: sell through AI conversation platforms without needing a traditional online store. Pay-per-sale pricing with no monthly subscription. Transaction rates start at 2.9% + 30 cents.
What you get:
- Product Syndication: distribute your catalog to ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, and the Shop app.
- Native Checkout: Shopify's checkout embedded inside AI chat conversations.
- Knowledge Base App: control how your brand and product content is surfaced in AI chats.
- System Integration: connects with existing PIM, tax, and order management systems.
Three-step setup: add products, configure Shopify, launch across agentic channels.
Why this matters: Shopify made it possible for any merchant, even without a website, to sell through AI agents. Pay-per-sale with zero monthly fee removes every barrier. Agentic commerce is not a feature - it's a distribution channel.
OpenAI Updates ACP: Visual Product Discovery in ChatGPT
OpenAI expanded the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), moving away from Instant Checkout toward product discovery. Visual shopping lets users browse, compare side-by-side, and upload images as inspiration. Conversational refinement narrows results by budget, preferences, and constraints.
Merchants share product feeds and promotions through ACP, with integration via Salesforce and Stripe. Walmart launched a dedicated in-ChatGPT app with account linking, loyalty programs, and Walmart payments.
Retailers on ACP for discovery: Target, Sephora, Nordstrom, Lowe's, Best Buy, The Home Depot, and Wayfair. Rolling out to all ChatGPT Free, Go, Plus, and Pro users.
Why this matters: OpenAI said "we're not going to own the checkout, but we are going to own the discovery." Product feed quality and ACP compliance directly determine whether ChatGPT's 300M+ users see your products.
Accenture Invests in DaVinci Commerce
Accenture Ventures invested in DaVinci Commerce, forming a strategic partnership through Accenture Song.
- DaVinci Agentic BrandStore: conversational brand experiences inside LLMs.
- DaVinci Commerce Marketing: AI-powered personalization across retail media networks.
Ndidi Oteh, CEO of Accenture Song: "Being discoverable is no longer enough. Brands must be relevant, personable, and ready to transact in agent-led environments."
Why this matters: When Accenture puts money behind something, enterprise budgets follow. Agentic commerce is becoming a line item in enterprise digital transformation roadmaps.
Stripe x Meta: One-Click Checkout Inside Facebook Ads
Stripe and Meta launched one-click purchasing directly inside Facebook ads.
How it works: merchants toggle on from Stripe Dashboard and link their Meta ads account. Shoppers click a purchase button on a Facebook ad, Meta shows native checkout powered by Stripe. Payment uses saved credentials from the buyer's Meta wallet. One click, done.
Early merchants include Fanatics and Quince. Coming next: Instagram ads and other Meta surfaces. Kevin Miller, Head of Payments at Stripe: "Reducing the steps between discovery and purchase is great for both consumers and businesses."
Why this matters: Social commerce meets agentic infrastructure. Discovery to purchase in one tap, zero redirects. The entire funnel collapses into a single interaction.
ChatGPT Ads Surpass $100M: New Pilots Announced
OpenAI's ad pilot crossed $100M in annualized revenue in just 6 weeks since launching on February 9.
The numbers:
- 600+ advertisers in the program.
- Less than 20% of eligible users see ads on any given day.
- 85% of Free and Go tier users are eligible.
- CPM of roughly $60, comparable to NFL broadcasts and premium streaming.
- 80% of SMBs expressed interest in ChatGPT placements.
Early advertisers include Target, Ford, Mrs. Meyer's, Adobe, Expedia, Best Buy, and Enterprise Mobility. Self-service ads are launching in April, which drops the minimum from $200K. International expansion to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand is also planned. David Dugan, formerly of Meta's ads team, has been named to lead OpenAI's global advertising solutions.
Why this matters: $100M in 6 weeks with barely any ad load. When self-service opens in April, expect this to explode. ChatGPT is becoming an ad platform and shopping platform simultaneously.
